Valentines Day - Self Love

When I started this blog some friends were somewhat startled. I am a little older and not quite of the blogger generation. I suppose people my age are more reserved when it comes to these things, whereas every sixteen year old has their own website and has no problem broadcasting (or narrow casting) their personal information and opinions to the world. Public is the new private, as it were. Filmmaker Guy Maddin once mused that we have a problem with self-mythologizing here in Canada, i.e. we just don't do it enough or very well - all our heroes are smaller than life. So today's entry is a tip-of-the-hat to ego in motion. And from here on in, I hope to at least begin to restore (even if it is in a very small personal way) the historical imbalance between timidity and self-mythology.
